Hi dear teenage people! Today I am going to discuss about the major problem faced by many teenage people. Today almost every teenager face a problem of pimples or acne which affects their beauty and happiness one survey says that it leads to stress and it affects their mental health also which is not a good sign for the future generation people. At puberty both boys n girls suffer from pimples .At this age there is hormonal imbalance which cause thickening of the horny layers of the skin. This thickening blocks the opening of the sebacious glands. With puberty the sebacious glands become activated probably due to the increase in the harmone testesteron in males and progestrone in female. This adds to trouble.

The horny plug, on exposure to the oxygen in air, becomes black. Hence a pimple with a black top is called the blackhead (comedone). In majority of cases, it opens up, the sebum flows out and the gland is restored to normal function. In some cases the active gland becomes turgid and rises a pimple (papule). This may get infected and form a painful pustule.

Certain boys and girls get a few comedones and papules on the face whereas the others may have numerous papules and pustules giving an unpleasant appearance. At this young age, one is more careful about the appearance and disfigurement may cause apprehension.

Keeping the skin of the face clean and dry by washing it with soap and water three to four times a day, is advisable. Any bathing soap is good for this purpose. The soap should be massaged from below upwards for at least two minutes preferably with a coarse cloth. Care should be taken not to do this vigorously so as to abrade the skin. Then the face is thoroughly rinsed with water. When the lesions are inflamed and contain pus, use a hot towel to foment the area for five minutes once or twice a day. That will open the painful lesions easily and quickly. A well balanced diet including fresh fruits, vegetables and milk is recommended.
